Full Moon in Libra: Venus as the Editor
Kicking off this new month of April 2026 is the Full Moon in Libra. Full Moons are often viewed as a period of culmination, closing down, and tying up loose ends. I see them as gateways to the next stage of being.
In the sign of Libra, where our luminary shines her brightest today, questions around balance, softness, fairness, and harmonizing aspects of life may come up — especially in the areas of relationships, collaborations, and even beauty and the senses. What currently feels too full and too much to continue holding? What within your life needs reduction in order to help balance out the whole of your life’s ecosystem?
Venus, the planetary ruler of Libra, is also highlighted under this period of the Full Moon.
Venus is the celestial goddess who governs the senses. (What activates the senses? What is attractive to you? How do you express joy? In what ways do you want to participate in pleasure? How do you show love to others? What do you want, need, and value when it comes to beauty, art, artistry, relationships, and the material? What arouses you? ) Venus, currently moving through its other domicile of Taurus (seeker of stability), is in a square with Pluto in Aquarius.
A Venus/Pluto square can make the Venusian areas of life rather…difficult. The tension and turbulence of this aspect can manifest as an attraction to folks with a darker, unsavory energy, or the experience of love feels like an addiction –– a reflection of wounds and traumas from early formative years, or its the falling into that obsessive, passionate and all consuming love that blows up in your face later, or maybe its an obsession with looks and beauty in the form of compulsive shopping or plastic surgery.
And this is because Pluto initiates conversations around power, possession, obsessions, the cycle of life and death, devastation and reconstruction, transformation, upheaval, and the shadows of life. Pluto is not afraid to assist in wiping out, tearing down, and overhauling that which has kept you in suffering and out of integrity. No, Pluto will tear open your deepest wounds and present opportunities to rebuild and reinvent.
Sometimes, Pluto’s presence can feel like being in a crock pot, the ego slowly melting under intense heat. Other times, it makes itself know like an ‘unexpected’ landslide. After quiet cracks in the foundation of life go ignored for years, an entire chunk of cliffside (the self) just falls off one day. Pluto asks: Are you willing to accept the transformation? It’s coming whether you want it or not.
Considering the Venus/Pluto square is occurring in conjunction with this Full Moon in Libra, there is an opportunity to address, edit, and rework the Venusian-influenced areas of life: relationships and partnerships, creative portfolios, decor, wardrobe, perspectives on beauty, personal values, consumption habits, business marketing, etc. What is getting in the way of your Venusian flow? In what ways are you deciding “you know what, it’s time to be fair to myself” and then letting go?
Do not doubt that your Venus knows exactly what it wants. Venus in one sign is not trying to be Venus in another sign. There is no forcing it into submission. (Unless Pluto is involved, and in that case, Pluto is probably encouraging Venus to be in a healthier alignment with its natural desires.)
Additionally, this Full Moon happens to be opposite the Sun’s transit through Aries. Aries speaks of independence, emerging, birthing, fresh starts. What is shifting right now in the Libran areas of life so that your spirit can shine brilliantly? Where might you need to be less passive with your approach to something?
And because this post can’t end without talking about style and the wardrobe (Venusian topics!), here are a few additional questions to ponder right now:
What were you obsessed with before that is no longer ‘giving’?
How is your perception of pleasure, joy, and beauty shifting?
How are your values transforming around aesthetic preferences, how much you own, and/or the bigger message behind what you own?
How can your Venus’ style values help guide a wardrobe edit in this new season of Spring? What does your Venus value and how will you be providing it to her?
