On the Move: Capsule Dressing for a New Life Chapter III (Aquarius Eclipse)

Aquarius Eclipse

February 17, 2026

WELCOME THE CHANGE. EMBRACE YOUR ECCENTRICITIES. DARE TO DO IT DIFFERENTLY. WITHOUT SHAME.

I want to start this post out with a story, because storytelling is such a powerful teaching and learning tool. Storytelling offers the listener associations (visuals, sounds, and feelings) that can be understood, empathized with, and archived in the memory of mind and body that a list of straight facts sometimes cannot do. When I study astrology, I most enjoy learning from personal stories…and so, I am going to share one with you. Here is one way Aquarius can manifest.

***

Last week, I started up with therapy for the first time in, ohhhh, twenty-four/twenty-fish~ish years. After filling in the therapist on the past decade of my home/family/intimate partner life, she said to me, “boy you move around a lot.” Well, yes, yes I do.

In the past eight years, I’ve held addresses in seven different states. From childhood through adulthood, my ‘home’ has been all over the country. My parents are divorced, and therefore, I grew up traveling back and forth between the North and the South. As an adult, I have lived abroad, traveled abroad often (and sometimes for multiple weeks), spent several years living in two different states for approximately half of the year each, lived back with my parents, moved all around the West, and occupied several homes that were not mine, but helped in the remodeling of them, and at some point they felt like mine, but alas life would have me leave them soon after to start the cycle all over again.

It’s always me (not my family, not my partners) who is the one consistently moving, taking in new landscapes, observing new communities, and seeking the somewhere I might ‘fit in.’

You see, Aquarius (a fixed combo of Saturnian and Uranian energy that encourages awakening, unconventional thinking, freedom, and revolution) makes its base in my 4th House (roots, security, home, ancestry, the dead of night, inherited beliefs and structures, domesticity, residence, private matters, ranches/ers, nostalgia). Aquarius colors this house and its themes with an eccentric, unusual, and experimental nature.

Wherever I go, there ‘I’ AM.

Fitting in…blending in…is not on the life’s agenda for me. I’ve always been the one on the adventure, moving far and away from something, living nine lives (Pluto on my Ascendant increases the need for reinvention), and I feel most at peace in spaces of diversity where everyone has quirks and eccentricities, where the rawness, humanness, and wrinkles show, where language is blunt and honest but kind. We’re all on this ride together anyhow. Even if not all of us want to accept and acknowledge that knowing.

It took me many years of unpacking the internal shame around being the outcast, the outlier, the weird one, the black sheep of the family. I have never followed the rules when it comes to who I love, who I establish ‘home’ with, where I live and make home, and how I build security for myself. (Side note: All of the significant men -SATURN- with a domestic presence in my life are/have been VERY DIFFERENT from one another - there is not one type. I will never have a type. Aquarius doesn’t do a type.) Sometimes my choices lead me to a feeling of alienation, but the thought of packaging myself up into a singular role/type just to be socially accepted feels suffocating. I'd rather go rogue.

Now, despite all this speak of individuality, Aquarius also encourages collective gathering (you’ll hear talk about the “collective uprising” a lot with Pluto in the Sign over the next twenty years). Aquarius is the rebellious leader with a new vision of the future for us all. It wants revolution, breaking chains, freedom from the norms/the expected. (Don’t mistake this rebelliousness for always being good…it could come from a place of extreme, radical selfishness.) But, there is a leader nonetheless with a goal for the collective, and the Aquarian energy has the fixed mindset to go where no one else has gone. This is the energy that paves the way.

On this eclipse, I’ve had a bit of an awakening. And that is: I’m allowed to be who I am. I give myself permission to stand out, follow intuitive leads, and walk my own path. I dare to be different. In doing this, I am an example for others to do the same.

Hallmarks of the Aquarian Style:

Both/and. Out of the box dressing. Basic B dressing, but in brighter and bolder colors. May be perceived as unusual. Space age and forward-thinking design. Modern and on trend. Can be weird and…plain. Easily rocks goth to girl next door. Eclectic. Unconventional. Y2K layering, shapes, and silhouettes. Individuality. Abrupt change of likes and dislikes or stylistic course.

Final Question:

Under this eclipse, where/how will you build the path forward?

Aquarius breaks the mold: how to make sure your wardrobe isn’t a one-trick pony:

Go your own way. Layer any and all. Strip bare or maximize. Find the out of reach and unknown. Silver, Black, and bold Pinks are your staples. Accessorize with oddities. Explore the esoteric. Wave your freak flag. Show us what you’ve got. Make us want it.
