The Taurus Style Brief
Taurus is known for it’s dependability, loyalty and work ethic…and I’ve got to say, the same extends to it’s fashion sense!
In the wardrobe, Taurus falls into two closets: the ultra fem (think precious metals, an explosion of fabric and jewels) and the primal, earthy, industrial masculine (rich minerals and stones, luscious woods, heavy metals).
While some Taureans like to repeat a two-piece uniform day in and day out (for it’s practical, reliable comfort) others will find physical pleasure in a wardrobe of luxurious and extremely loud looks.
But across the board Taurus wants the best of the best in whatever sensual delight it prefers. Taureans want to know what they are getting and they expect their clothes/food/drink/art/music to serve them. After all, Taurus works sooooo hard! ;)
I once dated a Sun/Mercury/Venus/Mars in Taurus (wouldn’t be surprised if the rising sign happened to reside there too) and this was one of those feed-me-grapes-while-I-sip-exotic-teas in my bed kinda guys. He lavished himself with everything he ever wanted and threw tantrums that rivaled those of a two year old when he didn’t get what he “deserved.”
For years he teased me about my purchase of the “tiniest spoon in the world,” a $100 salt spoon that I picked up one afternoon while walking around New York. It wasn’t the spoon and the ownership of things that he found so endearing about me, it was my indulgence and value of this little objet d'art. And then later, when I met with financial drought, I could depend on him asking me at least once in a conversation when I was going to be rich again…so that we could go walking and buy tiny, expensive spoons. Sigh.
Another favorite Taurean example of mine is Donatella Versace. This woman knows how to spend! It was Donatella that pushed her brother Gianni to create opulent shops for their fashion collections and throw extravagant parties in the 80’s-90’s despite the pleas of their advisors and accountants to stop draining the bank account. (From the opposite viewpoint…was this spending an investment in their brand?)
For some Taurus, happiness is found in living a life of ART, and they will manipulate and seduce however needed to get their way…which isn’t a ‘bad’ skillset to have…it means one can overcome whatever obstacle is in their way.
And there can be big reward in being bullish.
Happy Taurus season!
