Nothing like a Pisces Party
Guess what?
Pisces is a party animal.
I know, I didn’t think that either!
But after getting to a know a few…let me tell you, they know what’s hot and what’s not, and they make great party hosts.
Pisces has a welcoming presence that offers a feeling of safety. People can relax and unwind around them.
Just like the scales of a tropical fish reflect light in hypnotic ways…the inner light of Pisces radiates outward in a soothing beauty. It comes forward in the wide smile and deep eyes.
Always on trend (though NOT edgy like it’s neighbor Aquarius) Pisces takes a soft and sensitive approach to fashion leading it to choose flowy, billowy and bohemian fabrics and garment styles.
Common looks are:
Cargo pants, white blouses and a soft shell blazer or cropped jacket. This three piece uniform is casual but chic.
Off the shoulder (or one shoulder) dresses and tops paired with big cuffs adorned by deep agate and geodes.
Anything sequin and mermaid inspired.
Garden party dresses with a dreamy, boho look accessorized with rose-colored glasses. (Pisces is the sign of dreams and illusions. Thank you Neptune.)
I find Pisces well put together — they seem to have just the right assembly of dangling necklaces and earrings that sway over the most fitting work or brunch wear without being overdone, tacky or flashy.
Elizabeth Paton gets it right in this 2016 New York Times piece about Pisces designer Jenny Packham, “It is Ms. Packham’s creative philosophy and blithe disregard for trends, after all, that have propelled her into her niche in the fashion power structure. She has made a virtue, and profit, out of being the safe and appropriate choice.”

This watery sign wants itself — and its dear ones — to feel comfortable and as if they can float through any and all environments and situations with ease.
(Hallucanagenics, mood-altering medications, hypnosis, meditation, visioning and the subconscious are all associated with this 12th House host. This is also the area of the zodiac wheel where some folks feel trapped in cycles self harm and undoing and psychosis.)
But back to the fashion…where Pisces never unravels. ;)
I’ve been thinking a lot about fashion trends and their relationship with astrology. If Y2K was ruled by Aquarius, as I touched on in the Aquarius Style Brief, the 2010’s were definitely a reflection of Pisces. Soft leather, slouchy, top handle satchel bags (maybe with some metal grommets and leather fringe) were the IT bag of those years (See these Chloe bags)…they feel cloud like, calming, beautiful, and a match for any occasion…especially a chic social event.
How Pisces!
