Statement of Intent:

I commit to a lifetime of work engaging in anti-racist education for myself and my team, open conflict and discomfort, allocating a portion of my business dollars and personal spending to marginalized communities, continuing to name white supremacy and the impact of racism on myself and my communities and locating and dismantling the racist lenses through which I see and those of my professional and personal communities.

Myself and my business will not work with those who display and promote racist and prejudiced behavior.

Values:

Equity and Inclusion, Intimacy + Sacred Space, Beauty, Shared Wealth and Health Resources

Commitments:

I continually make changes to my creative practice, personal habits and business approach that are aligned with my commitments to the planet and it's people.

For me, commitments are acts of devotion that help to build long-term, sustainable change. They inform my choices in the present so that I can build the future I desire. As my awareness grows and global issues shift, my commitments evolve.

My commitments are rooted in activism, and always through actions of community care and environmental sustainability (both of which are deeply intertwined with one another.) In the past, these actions have taken form in the purchasing of only vintage and pre-owned clothing; the decision to say no to goose-down; re-using ziplock bags; devoting 2/3 of my bookshelf space to marginalized voices; continuing to educate myself on anti-racism and making monthly donations to organizations that support social justice and women’s rights. Every micro-action contributes to the future we want to manifest, and I want a future where the planet is treated with care and all humans have access to quality healthcare and safety.

Ongoing Commitments:

  • Provide direct financial support to DV survivors and WOC single parents needing assistance with housing, utilities, legal aide and physical sustenance.

  • Daily investment of time into education of marginalized artists in the fine, musical and healing/sacred arts. Share these learnings consistently in my social media stories.

  • Diversify voices on Podcast interview episodes with a ratio of 1 Black Guest, 1 Guest who is a Person of Color, 1 Indigenous Guest, 1 White Guest.

  • Allocate 50% of budget toward garments, studio space and photography materials from Black and POC-owned businesses.

  • Continue to hire a diverse staff of coaches, business contractors and second shooters.

  • Continue to purchase garments and accessories that are pre-owned, dead stock and/or made with sustainable practices.

The lives and livelihoods of those who not identify with Male, White, Cis, Hetero and Able-bodied deserve equal treatment and human rights, and I am committed to making choices that support the visibility and health of these communities.
